MOVEMENT RESTORATION ADDS

‘COLD WATER THERAPY’ TO MENU

OF MASSAGE THERAPY & RECOVERY SERVICES

New Hydrotherapy Spa System Helps Speed & Enhance Recovery Process

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (July 15, 2015) – Movement Restoration, a leading massage therapy concept focused on restoring natural movement to the body through individualized massage treatments, has announced that it has added cold water therapy to its menu of massage therapy and rehabilitation services.

The studio has installed the first of two hydrotherapy spa systems designed to speed the rehab and recovery process for athletes and active individuals.  Featuring a low temperature setting of 56°F, Movement Restoration’s cold water hydrotherapy spa amenity is available to all members and guests for a fee and can be purchased á la carte or as an add-on to any massage treatment.  The second hydrotherapy spa system, which will be installed later this year, will feature hot water temperatures as high as 104°F.

“Cold water therapy is not only a necessary part of athletic training and rehab programs, but it also has its own set of health benefits to a person’s immune, lymphatic, circulatory and digestive systems that enhance the overall quality of life,” said Trisha Haws, Movement Restoration co-founder and lead massage therapist.

Trisha also explains that after a workout or intense physical activity, a person’s body needs to “repair” itself to prepare for the next training session. It does so with the help of blood vessels that bring oxygen to muscle tissue while removing waste (chemicals and gases). Too much waste build-up can cause your muscles to function poorly and will often lead to fatigue. Much like an ice bath, cold water therapy will immediately reduce swelling while flushing waste out of the body to help muscles recover.

All Movement Restoration massage therapy services and recovery amenities are designed to promote movement, improve range of motion and increase flexibility and circulation, especially for athletes suffering from restricted movement, compression of joints, tight muscles, discomfort or other issues.
